Overview

Your Smart Shopping Companion

Siloet is a virtual fitting room app that helps online shoppers confidently try on clothes by creating a personalized digital mannequin. The app improves fit accuracy, reduces return rates, and enhances the overall shopping experience. As the UX/UI Designer, I conducted user research, created wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes, and led usability testing to design a seamless, user-friendly interface.

Problem

Online shopping often leaves customers uncertain about fit, resulting in high return rates and frustration. Shoppers struggle with sizing and can't physically try on clothes before buying, leading to a less satisfying experience.

Solution

Siloet eliminates this uncertainty by allowing users to create a personalized digital mannequin that mirrors their body proportions. By virtually trying on clothes, users can confidently make purchase decisions, reducing the guesswork and returns typically associated with online shopping.

User Interviews

To better understand the challenges faced by online shoppers, I conducted a series of user interviews with individuals who frequently shop for clothing online. The interviews helped uncover key pain points and provided valuable insights into what features would improve the shopping experience. Here are the 6 key takeaways:

Key Takeaways
01

Users struggle with knowing if clothes will fit, especially with new brands or unfamiliar sizing charts.

02

Many users return 20-30% of their purchases due to fit problems.

03

Shoppers want a more personalized experience based on their body shape and measurements.

04

Shoppers feel unsure about buying clothes online without trying them on first.

05

Users are interested in tools to see how clothes will fit on their body.

06

Users want an easy way to organize, plan, and save outfits for future purchases or reference.

Competitive Market Analysis

I analyzed existing virtual fitting room apps to identify key features and gaps. By reviewing competitors, we gained insights into user preferences, common pain points, and opportunities for differentiation. This research informed our design decisions, helping Siloet create a more personalized and seamless shopping experience.

Problem Statement

Online shopping for clothes often leads to frustration and uncertainty. Shoppers struggle with choosing the right sizes, and without the ability to try items on, they are left guessing how clothes will fit, leading to high return rates and wasted time. Additionally, organizing and planning outfits for future purchases or everyday wear is cumbersome, further discouraging confident buying decisions. There's a need for a solution that allows users to visualize how clothes will fit their body, helping them make informed decisions, while also providing an easy way to organize and plan their wardrobe.

Usability Testing & Key Insights

Usability Study

In the usability study for Siloet, users expressed frustration with the extra steps required to add items to their inventory before trying them on. Based on this feedback, we introduced a "Try On" button directly on the product cards in the Shop section. This change allows users to instantly try on clothes without adding them to their inventory.
